"Flow State" as fuel for your Body and Soul

The Anandamayakosha is considered the fifth and innermost layer in the Vedantic philosophy of the 5 Koshas, representing pure joy and bliss. It transcends the physical, energetic, mental and intellectual aspects of a person, and it is associated with the highest state of consciousness and spiritual realization.

The term "Ananda" translates to "bliss" or "happiness" in Sanskrit, reflecting the essence of this sheath. It is believed to be the seat of profound inner joy and contentment that is independent of external circumstances.

The Anandamayakosha represents a state of consciousness that goes beyond ordinary thinking and reasoning. It is associated with deep contemplation, introspection, and self-inquiry. Through practices such as meditation, self-reflection, and the study of spiritual texts, individuals can access and develop this aspect of consciousness.

One of the ways to nourish Anandamayakosha is by cultivating moments when you are in a "flow state." Flow state, as described by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, is a state of complete immersion and focus in an activity where one experiences a sense of effortless concentration and deep enjoyment. In this state, one becomes fully absorbed in the present moment, and the sense of self and time may dissolve.

When cultivating a flow state, the focus is not driven by desires arising from the senses or external stimuli, but rather by the intrinsic joy and fulfilment that the activity itself brings. It aligns with the idea of connecting with the Anandamayakosha, which represents an inner state of bliss and pure joy.

How does ThaiYoga Massage correlates with the Anandamayakosha?

ThaiYoga Massage and the exploration of deeper layers of the self are intricately connected. During a massage session, the practitioner can enter a state of flow, where the mind takes a backseat and intuitive movements guided by the client's body take over. This flow state allows for a deep connection and presence, facilitating a journey beyond the physical.

While ThaiYoga Massage involves physical touch, it can go beyond the physical realm. Through relaxation and presence, both practitioner and client create an environment where exploration of subtle layers becomes possible. As the practitioner touches the physical body, they can intuitively tap into energetic, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, going beyond surface-level sensations.

The massage session becomes a mutual experience of relaxation and presence. When both parties are fully present, the massage becomes a vehicle for self-exploration. It allows the practitioner to disconnect from the mind and dive into subtle states of consciousness. In this receptive state, the practitioner can access deeper layers within themselves and the client, going beyond the boundaries of the physical body.

ThaiYoga Massage provides a platform for both practitioner and client to enter subtle states, touch upon interconnected aspects, and discover profound layers of the self. Through the harmonious dance of touch, presence, and relaxation, it becomes a transformative experience that fosters self-discovery, interconnectedness, and a journey into the realms beyond the mind.
